Close Your Eyes

He tells her he has a surprise for her. With great excitement, she jumps into his arms and with the best "cute" she can display asks what the surprise is. He tells her it is a place he has never taken her before. Her heart swells at the thought of him taking her somewhere, yet she is confused...they had been everywhere together. "It's getting late...where are we going?

"Close your eyes...give me your hands...and let me take you there..." Her trust in him swamped over all doubts and she gave in. Her heart filled with glee as she slowly closed her eyes, making sure to capture every last detail of his face in her mind as to not lose the sight of him in her darkness. Her entire being floated into him as she slipped her hands into his. He pulled her close and his hands slipped from hers and glided around her waste, finding their resting place on the small of her back. He gently caressed her forehead and then her cheeks with his soft lips. She wrapped her arms around his neck and rested her head on his shoulder.

The summer air danced around them as they began to sway back and forth to the rhythm of their beating hearts. The sun was just ducking below the horizon as the rest of the world was being tucked away from their minds. A cool breeze swept them into a world of their own. Their souls became one and they swayed under the summer sunset in complete unity- their souls in complete harmony with one another. They swayed and swayed, just living in the love that pulsated so strongly back and forth between them. Their swaying continued on for forever it seemed as their love for each other was never-ending.

He took her there, carried her to a place where the moon was high and casting a beautiful glow across the entire landscape. Nature played its music as the crickets marked time in the rolling fields of high grass that spread out all around them. The trees on the far horizon below the great moon swayed back and forth under the gentle breeze. The stars shown brightly above them and twinkled in the night just as her eyes did as she intently gazed into his.

Their swaying progressed from a simple back and forth to more of a slow dance. The harmony between them became one with that of the surrounding music. They danced and danced. They danced until the energy that built up between them burst forth and they began to spin. Faster and faster they spun, the world around them becoming a blur. All they could see was one another and they laughed in sheer bliss. Faster and faster they spun until they collapsed into one another's arms. He held her up and slowly they began to sway back and forth once again. She rested her head upon his shoulder and closed her eyes. Back and forth...back and forth...they swayed together for hours upon hours. She began to feel the summer air dancing around them once again and opened her eyes to find the same sunset she had last seen what seemed to be so long ago. He pulled her from his shoulder and his eyes smiled into hers. He leaned forward and kissed her. Her heart fluttered. Oh the places they had yet to go...
